A humorous novel of Calvin Becker, a young boy who vacations in Portofino each summer with his Protestant missionary family. Set in the 1960s, the coming-of-age tale follows Calvin's encounters with the sights and locals of the seaside town, while he avoids his parents' constant bickering and their attempts to convert Roman Catholics.
