A young columnist for the international edition of the "New York Herald Tribune," Art Buchwald traveled to Paris in the late 1940s and stayed in Europe for the next 15 years. This is his memoir of that time, an often humorous account of his adventures and the many people he met, including American expatriate writers Hemingway, Ginsberg and Wilder. The first half of the book deals exclusively with Buchwald's time in Paris, while the second half details his adventures in places such as Rome, London, Moscow, Warsaw and Istanbul.
