First published in 1910 and with a new introduction by Jay Miller, this book collects the oral traditions of the Klamath, Nez Perce, Modoc, Chinook and other tribes of the Pacific Northwest. Presented here with 52 photographs, the stories reveal myths and traditions of the creation of the universe, rebirth of the salmon and, most interestingly, the formation of noted geographical features of the territory.
