Berenice Abbott's 420 black-and-white photographs of New York City comprise one of the finest extant pictorial records of the architecture of pre-WWII New York. Commissioned by the Works Progress Administration, Abbott did for New York what Walker Evans did for southern migrants in "Let Us Now Praise Famous Men." Introduced and annotated by a curator at the Museum of the City of New York.
