A classic, historically important work on conservation and natural history. In 1915 Marjory Stoneman Douglas moved to Miami, then a town of 5,000 inhabitants. A lifelong advocate of the Everglades, environmentalist and writer, Douglas published this wonderful, prophetic book over 50 years ago. This book (and the dedication of its author) were instrumental in establishing Everglades National Park.  (EGL01, $18.95)
