Written by the keeper of manuscripts at Trinity College, this spectacular little book features 110 color illustrations, including enlargements, of some of the more spectacular decorations in this most famous of medieval manuscripts. Created by Celtic monks around 800 C.E. or a little earlier, the Book of Kells is a masterwork of Western calligraphy, combining traditional Christian iconography with the ornate styles of the time.
