Highly recommended for young teens with a taste for historical fiction and a modicum of patience, this sprawling novel tells of a medieval pilgrimage through France to Santiago, Spain. The book takes a cue from Chaucer, telling the stories not only of the protagonists (teenaged fiances who don't get along) but also of the strangers they meet.
