![]() Arctic Adventure, My Life in the Frozen North Peter Freuchen Gretel Ehrlich (Introduction) EXPLORATION 2002 PAPER 400 PAGES COMING IN
A showman, explorer and Arctic enthusiast, Freuchen (who played himself in the early MGM movie Eskimo) wrote widely about his exploits in the Arctic. This 1935 memoir, with a new introduction by Gretel Ehrlich, displays his wide-ranging interests, humor and love of the remote north. Freuchen ran a trading post with fellow Norwegian Knud Rasmussusen at Thule in northwest Greenland. He died in Anchorage in 1957.
