A classic account of travels in northeast Greenland, originally published (in Danish) in 1955 and returned to print through the good efforts of Lawrence Millman, who provides the introduction. It's quite a tale -- and an admirable quest -- Mikkelson succeeds in retrieving the diaries of the failed 1908 Mylius-Erichsen Expedition. Much to Mikkelsen's delight, the diaries show that Peary never charted the remote Northeast coast of Greenland (one of Peary's many questionable claims).  (ARC137, $14.95)
