The 17th in the Aubrey opens with Jack Aubrey and Stephen Matuin home at last in England (the first time since vol 13). It's a relatively happy homecoming for Jack, but one fraught with domestic problems for Maturin. The climax is a tremendous battle off the coast of West Africa.
