A short, first-hand account of the campaign, written by a Union lieutenant as a letter to his brother that was never intended for publication (he may otherwise not have been so critical of his colleagues). Haskell was aide-de-camp to General John Gibbon, commander of the Iron Brigade. He was at the center of the Union line as Pickett's Charge stormed up Cemetery Ridge.  (WAR93, $9.95)
