![]() Amelie Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Director) 2001 DVD
This delightful, whimsical French film is well-deserving of its popularity. A Parisian waitress embarks on a mission of good-deed-doing, but neglects her own happiness. Among the movie's many charms are a globetrotting, plastic garden gnome, an aggressive produce merchant on whom Amelie seeks revenge, and the delightful, impish heroine herself. Jeunet's imaginative filmmaking heightens the magical realism of modern Montmartre, where the movie is set. In French with subtitles
