An English headmistress of a certain age, Mustoe makes an unlikely and appealing narrator of this quest by bicycle (and occasionally motorized transport) in the footsteps of Prince Rama, hero of the Hindu epic. In this personable account, she combines her own adventures with tales from the Ramayana. She follows Rama from the birthpalce of his wide in Nepal to Sri Lanka, where he did battle with 10-headed demon Ravana.  (IDA249, $14.95)
