A lively account of a year in the small village of Les Arques in southwestern France. A fluent speaker of French (and fine chef) Sanders is a sharp observer of local routines in the farming village. Located in the Lot region near Cahors, Les Argues (population 170) was home for 30 years to the sculptor Ossip Zadkine, whose studio is now a small museum.
