Hemingway's last major work of fiction tells the tale of an old Cuban fisherman who, after a long dry spell, spends three days reeling in a giant Marlin, which he ultimately reels only to have it devoured by sharks. Based on Hemingway's life in Cuba, it's an affectionate portrait of the country and way of life. It won the author the 1953 Pulitzer Prize for fiction.  (CBA02, $12.00)
