They left for their honeymoon in January of 2012, and Mike and Anne Howard have been trotting the globe ever since. Across five years together, the pair from New Jersey have claimed the title “the World's Longest Honeymooners.” Though the affable duo regularly chronicles their adventures on the travel blog HoneyTrek.com, National Geographic has put them in print, in the new travel title Ultimate Journeys for Two: Extraordinary Destinations on Every Continent.
Designed for intrepid couples, the book features 75 tested-and-approved journeys of a lifetime. Organized by destination type (i.e., Mountains, On Safari, At Sea), each entry focuses on a specific region, with special features like stories, beautiful photography, advice from other traveling couples, and tips for using amazing destinations to keep the sparks flying! The Howards nicely balance the five-star side of travel with notes on experiencing local and cultures. Whether in the Antarctica, Namibia, Indonesia, or northern Wisconsin, the inspired entries never shift their focus from good, old-fashioned romance.
